These watches are ones I get a lot of FOMO about not owning, mostly because I can tell how thoughtful they have been with their designs and rollout. The pricing increase is pretty stiff, but the case and bracelet (especially in titanium) are certainly not as easy to manufacture as a dive watch would be, so I can understand it. Without a side-by-side comparison, I can’t say I noticed any significant difference in this smaller case size compared to past experiences with the b/1 series. I feel no insecurity with wearing a smaller watch.
I don’t find legibility an issue, and I frankly don’t care if someone thinks a small watch looks “odd” on my wrist. That’s a “them” problem, not a “me” one, and I wear watches for me. The aesthetics, however, are bold enough that I question whether the b/1.3r is an adequate representation of who I am versus who I want to be. I want to be the person who feels confident enough to wear a statement like this. Until I figure that out, I’ll just appreciate it for the people who are.
