eBay Finds: A Pair of Vintage Omegas, an Accutron with a Tuning Fork Movement, and More

eBay Finds is back! This bi-monthly installment will feature a selection of watches currently listed on eBay that have caught the eye of editor Christoph McNeil (@vintagediver). If you come across any hidden gems on the ‘Bay drop us a note at [email protected] for potential inclusion.

Vintage Omega Constellation

Here is a really nice and all original vintage Omega Constellation to start us off this week. This is a later iteration of the Constellation, which despite not being the classic 1950s version is still quite a watch. The watch was clearly worn and loved, but not abused. The C-shaped steel case has a nice patina but looks to be unpolished. The silver dial is clean, with stick markers and delicate stick hands. The crystal shows some crazing and/or scratches from use, but the seller states it’s original. Easily replaced or you can leave it be to maintain originality. But under that crystal the dial looks fantastic. Original signed crown and brick style steel bracelet complete the watch. No movement pictures but the seller states it runs well. Fantastic, all original vintage Omega Constellation in honest condition.

Wittnauer Diver

Next up is a super chunky vintage 1970s Wittnauer diver with a brilliant blue dial. The 38mm steel case has that classic 70s block-o-steel style and is unpolished with sharp edges. The electric blue dial has a lighter blue outer minute track with a day/date window at 3 o’clock and steel markers. The dial looks to be in superb original condition. The diver’s bezel has a nice complimentary blue acrylic insert that shows some patina but is still in nice shape. This piece comes with an integrated steel bracelet that is original and signed with the Wittnauer “W” logo. No movement pictures, but the seller states the watch runs fine. Great vintage diver that shouldn’t break the bank.

Vintage Waltham Dress Watch

Next up is a cool and interesting vintage Waltham dress watch with an original box. The style is definitely 1960s. The watch has a simple and timeless style, with a steel case and silver dial. The dial features larger block markers and a darker outer track that looks great. There is a sub-seconds dial at 6 o’clock and no date window. The watch looks almost NOS, and according to the seller the sticker is still on the back. The strap looks like it could be original, but the seller says it’s pretty degraded from age. Again, no movement pictures but the seller states the watch runs. This one comes with the original plastic box, but seems like no papers. I know this listing doesn’t have the best pictures, but my Spidey-sense tells me this will look killer in person and on the wrist.

Vintage Accutron

Ok, this one is a real gem. I was honestly tempted to bid myself, but I’ve got to stick to my downsizing mantra and really wanted to share it with our readers. This 1960s Accutron is an absolute beauty, and in crazy nice condition. The 36mm steel case is unpolished, with crisp edges and the original finish. There are a couple of tool marks on the caseback, but otherwise minty fresh. The dial though is the star here, with brilliant two tone metallic blue color and white minute markers plus applied steel markers at 12, 3, 6 and 9. There is no date window to mar the beautiful symmetry. The steel hands have white stripes that match the dial plus lume plots at the ends. The crown is original and signed with the Accutron symbol as it should. This Accutron is the later caliber 218 tuning fork movement, which is generally a robust movement. This 218 is clean and runs well per the seller. This is another one that will really shine on the wrist.

Vintage Caravelle Diver

Got another great vintage 1970s diver for you. This 1974 Caravelle is another solid chunk of steel at 37mm wide and nice and thick, unpolished with sharp edges. The dive bezel is inset into the case to protect it, and it looks fantastic. The original aluminum bezel insert is super clean, and the watch definitely still has the original high dome acrylic crystal. The dial is a two-tone gray/brown that starts out darker on the edges and fades to a lighter color in the middle. Applied steel markers and large steel baton hands with a discreet date window at 3 o’clock complete the look. The watch comes on a modern steel bracelet that looks decent as well.

Vintage Omega Seamaster

Finishing up this week with another great vintage Omega, this time a classic 1950s Seamaster. This one has a 34mm steel case with the classic fat lugs that have nice chamfers. The case looks unpolished, and exhibits a nicely aged patina. The snap on caseback is clean as well, with the lightly etched “Seamster” still clearly readable. The cream dial has a pleasing and even patina that gives it a fantastic vintage look. The dial has applied steel slim, faceted arrow markers, with no pesky date window. The seller calls the dial a “pie-pan” but those were only on Constellations and is written in the listing as click bait. The steel dauphine hands show some oxidation, which is common with these Seamasters. The crown is the correct ‘clover’ style signed with the Omega symbol as it should. Sadly there are no pictures of the beautiful Omega movement, but the seller states the watch runs well. Great looking vintage Seamasters don’t show up for auction like they used to, so if you have a hankerin’ for a Seamaster, check this one out.
