The Turks and Caicos Islands are once again fully open for business following the passage of Tropical Storm conditions from Hurricane Melissa. Experience Turks and Caicos, the destination’s exclusive tourism authority, confirmed that operations have resumed smoothly across all islands.
Government officials issued an All-Clear notice, allowing for the full reopening of businesses, resorts, and transportation services. The Turks and Caicos Islands Airports Authority (TCIAA) reported that all six airports, including the Howard Hamilton International Airport in Providenciales, are now operating normally with the return of international flights.
“We are extremely grateful that the Turks and Caicos Islands and our community are safe and were minimally impacted by Hurricane Melissa,” said Paul Pennicook, Interim CEO Consultant for Experience Turks and Caicos, the destination’s DMO. “All business, airport, and tourism operations have resumed as normal, and we look forward to welcoming visitors to Providenciales and our sister islands.”
Pennicook also extended sympathy to nearby destinations that experienced more significant impacts from the storm, noting that the Turks and Caicos tourism community stands in solidarity with its Caribbean neighbors.
