Wedchayan “Deau” Arpapornnopparat is a Bangkok-born chef who burst onto the Los Angeles dining scene like a firecracker. When he and his wife, Tongkamal “Joy” Yuon, began to craft their restaurant, Holy Basil, they focused on one simple question: How could they re-create the food of their childhoods? That question, at the core of Arpapornnopparat’s cooking, drove him to create some of the most exciting Thai food in Los Angeles. The concept initially launched as a stall at Santee Passage food hall, and in 2024, Arpapornnopparat opened a full-service restaurant in Atwater Village.
