Class of 2018
Diana Dávila’s first restaurant job was at her parents’ taqueria in the Chicago suburbs. Her résumé includes leadership positions in Chicago and Washington, D.C.’s top establishments, but in order to bring her imaginative Mexican dishes to life, Dávila had to take a leap of faith. Inspired by antojerías, a style of restaurant that serves nostalgic Mexican cuisine, she opened Mi Tocaya Antojería in 2017. Her menu includes popular staples such as steak burritos, while also highlighting regional specialties like shrimp aguachiles, lamb barbacoa, and Oaxcan chochoyotes.
