The Hublot Big Bang Reloaded

The Big Bang Reloaded marks the next step in Hublot’s ongoing refinement of its flagship chronograph. Rather than a clean-sheet design, this new collection for Watches and Wonders 2026 revisits the openworked Big Bang Unico and re-engineers it from the inside out.

This release feels like a logical follow-up to the earlier Big Bang models introduced this year with closed dials. Here, Hublot leans fully into its more technical background. The movement becomes the main visual element, supported by stronger contrasts, updated case architecture, and a celebration of the house’s history in material experimentation. Join me for a closer look!

The new Hublot Big Bang Reloaded

The Hublot Big Bang Reloaded builds on two pillars — the in-house Unico caliber and the layered Big Bang case. Both have been around for years, but Hublot uses this release to bring them together in a visually impactful manner. At the center sits the HUB1280 Unico, first introduced in 2010 and continuously refined since. In this latest iteration, Hublot emphasizes its handsome looks. The column wheel at 6 o’clock and the dual clutch at 8 o’clock, for instance, now stand out with contrasting colors.

The dial layout also shifts slightly. The chronograph counter at 3 o’clock has been redesigned, while the date now sits more prominently between 4 and 5 o’clock. These are small changes, but they improve legibility on what remains a busy, openworked display.

Externally, the 44mm case keeps the familiar Big Bang silhouette but adds sharper contrast. The new two-part bezel construction creates more interplay between finishes and materials. Combined with the multilayer dial and revised pushers, the overall look leans more technical and slightly more aggressive than previous Unico models. And those weren’t exactly tame to begin with…

Hublot Big Bang Reloaded specifications

The Hublot Big Bang Reloaded has a 44mm case with a 14.5mm thickness and a 100m water resistance rating. Depending on the version, materials include titanium, ceramic, or Magic Gold (more on that later). The case construction features a two-part bezel and sapphire crystals on the front and back. Each watch comes with two straps, including a rubber one with a fabric inlay alongside a classic rubber option, both fitted with the excellent One Click quick-release system, characterized by the prominent pusher on the topside.

Inside ticks the HUB1280 Unico manufacture caliber. This is a self-winding flyback chronograph with a column wheel and a fully integrated architecture. It runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers a 72-hour power reserve. The movement uses a silicon escapement and incorporates five patented elements, including dual oscillating clutches and a zero-friction ratchet system.

The dial is fully skeletonized, with either gray or black plating depending on the model. Key components of the chronograph are highlighted through color accents, improving readability. The chronograph-seconds hand has been redesigned, and the overall layout emphasizes depth and layering.

The models that make up the Hublot Big Bang Reloaded collection

The Hublot Big Bang Reloaded collection consists of five references, each defined by its material execution. The Titanium Ceramic model combines a titanium case with black ceramic elements. It offers a more understated, technical look and retails for €23,500.

The All Black version continues Hublot’s monochrome concept, using black ceramic and black-plated components throughout. It is priced at €24,700. The Blue Ceramic and Dark Green Ceramic models introduce color into the case construction. Both use high-tech ceramic and retain the same movement and layout. Each costs €24,700.

At the top sits the Magic Gold version. This model uses Hublot’s scratch-resistant gold alloy for the case, paired with black elements. It stands apart visually and carries a price of €43,600. Notably, these five Big Bang Reloaded models are not limited editions. All form part of the regular collection. For the true Hublot aficionados, though, special versions around ambassadors Kylian Mbappé and Usain Bolt are coming out too.

Initial impressions

Hublot made great strides with the Big Bang collection since celebrating its 20th anniversary last year. Not too long ago, the Big Bang Original received its upgrade to the in-house Unico caliber. Today’s release is more of an evolution, though. After all, the Big Bang already came with a skeletonized dial and caliber HUB1280.

We’re focusing primarily on aesthetic and technical refinements, then. Whether you like these is a highly subjective matter, in my book. From a functional perspective, I think the changes work very well. The date feels less apologetically hidden, and the small splashes of color add visual hierarchy. Purely aesthetically, I think I prefer the cleaner previous versions. Admittedly, those dials could feel a bit like black holes under the wrong light, but they certainly had an ominous, threatening kind of charm.

In the end, these new Hublot Big Bang Reloaded models add more choice and variety to the line, which potential customers will surely appreciate. If I had to place my order today, I would pick the all-black ceramic version. Which would you get? Let us know in the comments section below!
