Omega Constellation
First up this week is a nice vintage Omega Constellation. Now, this isn’t the more well known pie-pan version, but it’s still a stunning piece made with the same attention to detail. This is a later 1960s version, with a large “C” style case that is in excellent condition. Nice crisp edges with the original brushed and polished finish. The caseback observatory medallion is not an added gold piece, but rather engraved directly into the steel back. The crown is signed and looks correct. The dial has a beautiful cross-hatch linen texture to it, with thin stick markers and stick hands. There is a day/date window at three o’clock. Dial looks clean and original. The watch comes on the original brick link bracelet, although one of the links is broken and it will need repair. No movement picture but the watch runs per the seller.
Seiko JDM Sport Diver
Here’s a great Seiko diver that is a modern re-issue of a vintage model. In the late 1990s Seiko did a series of Sport Diver re-issues with modern specs and movements. These are a great way to have that vintage vibe but not have to worry about babying the watch. This one has a tonneau shaped case with a nice brushed finish and sharp edges. The orange dial really pops, and has an internal rotating diver’s bezel. This was made for the Japanese domestic market, and the day wheel is in both English and Kanji. The watch comes on the original “razor” bracelet which really adds to the vintage look. The watch is in overall excellent condition and runs well per the seller. Great looking modern Seiko diver with vintage DNA.
Vintage Wittnauer
This little vintage Wittnauer is here to bring some subtle bling into your life. This gem (pun intended…) has a plain white dial with applied faceted markers. The 12, 3, 6 and 9 are shaped like diamonds and they have small diamonds in the middle. Simple stick hands and a nice sub-seconds dial at six o’clock. The 10k white gold filled case is simple and elegant, with a crown signed with the Wittnauer “W” logo. The caseback is engraved with a personal message dated 1965. This one comes on a funky old stretch band that should be replaced with a nice croc or lizard strap if you ask me. The case is the front-loading type, so no movement pictures, but it runs well per the seller.
Vintage Seiko “TV” Dial
Next up is a wild and funky vintage Seiko “TV” dial watch. This piece is from September 1971 according to the serial number, and it definitely fits in that late 60s/early 70s aesthetic. The unique case is a horizontal rectangle, with a horizontal dial. This combo, with the dial shape and wide bezel make it definitely look like an old school TV. The case is in pristine condition, with a vertical brushed finish and sharply angled and polished edges on the top and bottom. The silver dial is clean as a whistle, with a day/date window at three o’clock and the Seiko 5 logo at nine o’clock. The watch comes on the original mesh bracelet with a signed buckle. No movement pictures, but runs well per the seller. Really neat, unique piece!
Vintage Hamilton Estoril
This vintage Hamilton Estoril is a great looking sporty piece. The unpolished 34mm steel case has a solid look with nice block lugs that have sharp chamfers. The caseback is really cool, and has a medallion style logo with the Hamilton “H” logo, some wavy water and a “300”, referring to a 300ft depth rating. The crown is also signed with the “H” logo. The silver dial has bold steel block hour markers, and a date window at six o’clock. It also has the “Estoril” name in stylized script above the date. Steel baton hands with lume complete the look. The Hamilton signed automatic movement is clean and runs well per the seller. This is a fantastic looking watch, and would be just perfect for an every day type of watch, in my humble opinion.
Vintage Seiko 6138-8039 “John Player” Chronograph
When it rains, it pours, and this week it’s raining Seiko! Finishing strong with this stunning vintage August 1976 Seiko 6138-8039 “John Player” chronograph. The large, chunky steel case is excellent and unpolished with nice sharp edges and the original brushed and polished finish. The dial is black with gold sub-dials and gold accents. This color combo matches the 1970s Lotus Formula 1 racing cars sponsored by the John Player tobacco company, hence the nickname. The original steel bracelet also has gold colored middle links to complement the look. The 6138 line of chronographs are incredibly robust and reliable, and were technically cutting edge at the time. The movement is automatic and also able to be hand wound, and the day/date function is a true quickset. The watch runs and functions well per the seller. This is a fantastic piece, and one that rarely appears at auction, especially in this condition.
