Hyatt Is Planning a New All-Inclusive in the Dominican Republic With 650 Rooms, 5 Pools, and a Waterpark

Hyatt is planning another major all-inclusive resort in the Dominican Republic, continuing the company’s rapid expansion across one of the Caribbean’s most important tourism destinations.

Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced that a Hyatt affiliate has signed a management agreement with Codelpa, the owner of Secrets Tides Punta Cana, to develop a new Hyatt Ziva Punta Cana resort.

The new resort is expected to open in 2029 and will include 650 guestrooms, making it one of the largest family-focused resorts in the brand’s Caribbean portfolio.

It would be the second Ziva-branded resort in the Dominican Republic, joining the existing Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana.

Located about 40 minutes from Punta Cana International Airport, the property will bring the Hyatt Ziva brand’s family-friendly all-inclusive concept to the Dominican Republic’s eastern coast, while also including a dedicated adults-only building within the resort.

“We are thrilled to expand our portfolio with Hyatt with plans for Hyatt Ziva Punta Cana,” said Alvaro Peña, president of Codelpa, in a statement provided to Caribbean Journal. “Following the successful debut of Secrets Tides Punta Cana, we look forward to expanding the Hyatt Ziva brand in Punta Cana, complementing Hyatt’s growing brand presence in the region and offering a family-friendly experience on the destination’s white sand beaches.”

Hyatt Continues Expanding in the Dominican Republic

The project reflects Hyatt’s continued investment in the Dominican Republic, which has become one of the company’s most important markets in the Caribbean.

According to Hyatt, the company currently operates 34 hotels in the Dominican Republic, including 32 all-inclusive resorts, representing nearly 17,000 rooms across the country.

“We are delighted by the trust placed in us by a valued owner like Codelpa, and by the opportunity to further strengthen our already solid portfolio in the Dominican Republic,” said Javier Águila, president of Hyatt’s Inclusive Collection.

Águila said the scale of Hyatt’s portfolio in the country reflects the company’s long-term commitment to a destination that continues to attract strong international demand.

The Dominican Republic has seen sustained tourism growth over the past several years, supported by expanding airlift from North America and Europe and a steady pipeline of new hotel development along its Caribbean coastline.

A Family-Focused All-Inclusive Resort

When it opens, Hyatt Ziva Punta Cana will offer a wide range of amenities designed for multigenerational travel.

Dining will include five specialty restaurants alongside an international buffet, a snack bar, a coffee shop, an ice cream venue and a beach club serving food and drinks throughout the day.

Six bars will offer international and domestic spirits, while a juice bar will be located within the resort’s spa.

The resort will also include extensive wellness facilities, with a fitness center, yoga studio and outdoor gym. The spa is planned to feature sauna and steam rooms, a hammam, hydrotherapy circuit and relaxation lounge, along with treatment rooms, a beauty salon and a bridal suite for weddings.

Guests will have access to five pools, including a dedicated adults-only pool and a kids pool, along with a water park.

Activities across the resort are expected to include pickleball and tennis courts, along with mini golf, fire pits, climbing walls, playgrounds, ropes courses and even a bowling alley.

Children and teens will also have dedicated programming through a Kids Club and Teen Club, offering supervised activities throughout the day.

The Hyatt Ziva Brand in the Caribbean

The upcoming Hyatt Ziva Punta Cana will join a growing portfolio of Hyatt Ziva resorts across the Caribbean, a brand built around family-friendly all-inclusive travel with a focus on large beachfront settings, extensive dining and activities for multiple generations.

The brand first established its Caribbean presence with Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall in Jamaica, a beachfront resort in Montego Bay that combines family-focused accommodations with access to the wider Rose Hall resort area.

In the Dominican Republic, the brand already operates Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana, a large oceanfront resort just south of Punta Cana International Airport. That property includes multiple pools, a water park, oceanfront suites and a collection of restaurants ranging from Caribbean seafood to Italian and Asian cuisine.

Beyond the Caribbean basin, the brand’s best-known resorts also include Hyatt Ziva Cancun in Mexico.

Across the portfolio, Hyatt Ziva resorts emphasize expansive beachfront locations, large pool complexes, diverse dining venues and a wide range of daily activities. Many properties also pair with Hyatt Zilara, the company’s adults-only sister brand, creating adjacent resorts designed for different types of travelers.

The concept has proven especially popular with families looking for high-end all-inclusive stays that combine resort-style amenities with structured activities for children, teens and adults.

With the addition of Hyatt Ziva Punta Cana, the brand will further expand its footprint in the Caribbean and strengthen its presence in the Dominican Republic, one of the region’s fastest-growing tourism destinations.

More Hyatt Resorts Planned in the Dominican Republic

Hyatt Ziva Punta Cana is part of a broader expansion of Hyatt’s Inclusive Collection across the Dominican Republic.

Additional projects in the pipeline include Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana and Secrets Macao Beach Punta Cana, both expected to open in 2026.

These developments will further expand Hyatt’s presence in the all-inclusive segment, where the company now operates more than 150 resorts with over 55,000 rooms across Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe.

With the planned debut of Hyatt Ziva Punta Cana, the Dominican Republic will continue to play a central role in Hyatt’s Caribbean growth strategy as the brand adds new resorts designed for families, couples and multigenerational travelers
