As a huge fan of Patek’s Cottier-derived world timers, this watch immediately jumped to the top of my “can’t wait to see it” list for Watches and Wonders this year. Patek does a lovely job with color, but red is rare, especially in the core catalog (consider the ruby-clad Grand Comp like this 5271, or even the rarely seen Singapore Edition 5930G with a center red dial).
I love the idea of a classic, mid-sized yellow gold watch with such an exciting dial execution. Aside from the bezel and dial decisions, the 7129J is largely similar to the 7130, using the same movement and thus offering the same functionality. So, it’s essentially a new colorway, but it’s certainly far from boring. Expect more on this once we’ve had a chance to see the new Pateks in person over the coming days.
