11 Writer-Loved Black Friday Kitchen Deals

Not only do I write about my favorite kitchen gear for a living, but I also cook almost every night of the week. With so much practice and access to great kitchen tools, I took it upon myself to round up some of my favorite gadgets that are on sale at Amazon for Black Friday. Many of the products below — like KitchenAid stand mixers and Cuisinart food processors — have been around for decades, but you might not have thought about buying some of the less flashy tools on this list. Either way, I have a feeling these essentials will soon become favorites of yours, too.

Best Writer-Loved Black Friday Deals

Whether you’re building a kitchen collection from scratch after graduating from college or you’re interested in expanding your cookware selection to include a pancake griddle, you’ve come to the right place. This list has a little bit of everything. Shop the Shun paring knife, BrüMate tumbler, and OXO kitchen scale that are staples in my kitchen. Prices start at just $9 for Black Friday.

BrüMate Era 40-Ounce Tumbler

Amazon

I’m embarrassingly bad at drinking enough water if it inconveniences me in any way, which is why I need a water bottle with a large capacity for minimal refills, a straw for easy sipping, and a dishwasher-safe design for effortless cleaning. BrüMate’s Era tumbler checks all of these boxes and then some, with its clever leakproof design and cup holder-compatible bottom.

Shun Classic 3.5-Inch Paring Knife

Amazon

This paring knife has been a staple in my kitchen for well over a year. I use it to hull strawberries, remove garlic cloves from their sticky peels, slice tomatoes, and more. I caution anyone against putting this in the dishwasher. Instead, wash it by hand, dry it off immediately, sharpen it every now and then, and this blade will last a long time.

U-Taste Offset Spatula Set

Amazon

I pull out my offset spatula at least once a day to lift cookies, frost cakes, spread peanut butter on toast, scoop yogurt out of its container, and more — and I’m not the only one. One shopper out of the 3,900 who gave these offset spatulas five-star ratings at Amazon called them their “most utilized tools” in the kitchen.

OXO Good Grips 11-Pound Kitchen Scale

Amazon

The key to better baking starts with a kitchen scale. This handy tool ensures I’m using the correct amount of flour or sugar down to the gram, so my brioche is always fluffy and my biscuits are always flaky. The scale’s handy pull-out display also makes it a favorite of other Food & Wine editors.

Mudeela Spice Rack Organizer, Set of 2

Amazon

As a recipe tester and developer, I cook with a lot of spices, but as a person who works from a small home kitchen, I have limited storage space. To rectify this problem, I grabbed a spice rack, which is no longer sold. Instead, this set is a great option that can accommodate 36 bottles and is 53% off right now.

Made In Carbon Steel Griddle and Grill Press Set

Amazon

I pull out my Made In carbon steel griddle whenever I have a hankering for pancakes, which is more often than one might assume. And for the other occasions — the ones when I’m craving smash burgers, hashbrowns, or any other manner of ultra-crispy foods — I also pull out the brand’s included grill press.

KitchenAid Artisan Series 5-Quart Tilt-Head Stand Mixer

Amazon

I’ve owned my KitchenAid stand mixer for more than five years, and it still works as well as it did when I first got it. While I suggest grabbing Ooni’s sturdier, more expensive model if you’re big into bread-baking, KitchenAid’s stand mixer can whisk egg whites, make cookie dough, and whip cream with the best of them. Plus, it’s compatible with a range of attachments for rolling pasta dough, grinding meat, and more.

Caraway Nonstick Ceramic 3-Quart Saucepan

Amazon

I pull out my Le Creuset Dutch oven and Made In stainless steel stockpot when I have to make large quantities of soup, stew, or pasta. But for those times when I’m whipping up a quick dinner just for myself, this Caraway saucepan comes in handy. I love that it’s made of ceramic (read: nonstick and non-toxic) and easy to clean.

Männkitchen Pepper Cannon

Amazon

Männkitchen’s Pepper Cannon cranks through an entire jar of peppercorns with barely any effort on my part and has 60 coarseness settings for the ultimate pepper-grinding experience. I would normally hesitate to recommend such an expensive pepper mill, but it’s one of the best products I’ve come across in a while. And trust me, as a writer who is lucky enough to play with the latest and greatest kitchen tools, I don’t make this statement lightly.

Cuisinart 14-Cup Food Processor

Amazon

This food processor is more than capable of mixing pie dough, whipping up chimichurri, and blending homemade nut butters. Mine sees almost daily use because of how easily it chops, shreds, mixes, and slices, and I bet yours will, too. Don’t trust me? It’s also one of the most-loved models at Food & Wine for its simple, straightforward design and compact size.

OXO Good Grips Multi-Purpose Kitchen and Herb Scissors

Amazon

OXO’s scissors pull double duty as kitchen shears and herb strippers, making it a great multifunctional tool for cutting through chicken joints or stripping rosemary off its tough stems. Plus, you can separate the razor-sharp blades and stick them in the dishwasher for a thorough cleaning after touching raw poultry.
