I’d argue that Baltic kicked off the recent spate of smaller brands and more affordable releases that use precious stones, lab-grown diamonds, and other bits of bling when their designer Jas posted a photo over two years ago featuring an MR model just like the one above, but what looks to be diamonds in the bezel. The rest is history. Many brands got on board. Personally, I picked up a Furlan Marri with an onyx dial and lab diamond indices, and TanTan reviewed an Atelier Wen with diamond indices around the same time.
It seems like a perfect send-off to the MR model, the brand’s classic 36mm by 9.9mm classic dressy option, which will be discontinued in its current format after a four-year run. In addition to the lab-grown moissanite baguettes in the bezel, the watches feature new glossy black dials (with a brushed sector in the Roulette’s dial), one with leaf hands and Breguet numerals, and the other with that printed roulette design and faceted dauphine hands.
