The new pietersite dial, showcasing unique swirls of blue, gold, and brown on a deep blue and black base, says goodbye to guilloché. But Atelier Wen says the dial is certainly not easy to produce, with the brittleness of the slices remaining a challenge, as with most stone dials. With Chinese craft remaining an emphasis, the cutouts for the rhodium-plated sloped indices are wirecut by hand in Zhejiang province, then sent to Guangdong for polishing. Surrounding the pietersite is a chapter ring, PVD-coated in black, then adorned with the brand’s signature huiwen motif printed in Super-LumiNova.
