Sandals Is Opening a Beaches All-Inclusive Resort in St Vincent and the Grenadines

Sandals is opening a new Beaches resort in St Vincent and the Grenadines, Caribbean Journal has learned.

Sandals and Beaches Executive Chairman Adam Stewart made the revelation during the Skift Global Forum this week.

The new resort is a 360-room all-inclusive development planned for Mount Wynne Beach on the western coast of St Vincent – most notably, about a 10-minute drive from the Sandals Saint Vincent and the Grenadines resort.

The opening of Sandals’ first-ever Saint Vincent resort last year helped buoy a tourism renaissance in the country, including a wave of new flights. That will soon include new nonstop flights between Atlanta and St Vincent on Delta.

It’s a term we at Caribbean Journal first coined as the “Sandals Effect,” helping to usher in a 300 percent increase in airlift to the island. “

“It’s clear that all tides rise together,” Stewart said. “We’re excited to continue that momentum with plans to bring a new 360-room Beaches Resort to this incredible destination.”

The announcement comes as Beaches has several other expansions planned in the Caribbean.

That includes the imminent debut of the Treasure Beach Village at Beaches Turks and Caicos and new resorts in Exuma, Barbados and the Runaway Bay area of Jamaica.

In all, that adds up to more than $1 billion in new hotel investment by the company.
