The Eastbury – the luxury Georgian Townhouse set in the historic town of Sherborne, Dorset – has completed its sale by the de Savary family to the Stay Original Company.

This is the 7th acquisition by Stay Original Co who specialise in boutique hotels and coaching inns in the South West. The Eastbury will undergo a substantial refurbishment in 2026 and will be relaunched with an all day signature Stay Original food and beverage offer to include a bakery and an emphasis on fresh and local produce. The 26 bedrooms will also be modernised with new interiors and bathrooms.

Peter and Lana de Savary bought the Eastbury Hotel in February 2018. In 2018, they refurbished the hotel and restaurant, and in 2019 they added five luxury Potting Sheds bedrooms and a Spa all situated within the walled garden.

Lana de Savary, said: “Peter and I were pleased to acquire The Eastbury in 2018 and delighted to spearhead the enhancement and creation of the Spa and Luxury Potting Sheds; and to have shared this journey with our wonderful team. I am equally delighted to be passing this on to Rob and James at Stay Original Co.”
