This New Cayman Islands Wellness Destination Has a Snow Room, a Panoramic Sauna, and a 7-Part Hydrotherapy Circuit

A new kind of wellness destination has opened along Grand Cayman’s Seven Mile Beach — one built entirely around hydrotherapy, temperature contrast, and high-tech treatments, all under one roof.

It’s called Meraki Wellness, and it’s the Cayman Islands’ first standalone luxury wellness and spa destination, now officially open at 1411 West Bay Road following a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Her Excellency Jane Owen, Governor of the Cayman Islands.

The 16,000-square-foot property brings together a series of firsts for the region, from a Snow Room to a seven-part hydrotherapy circuit, positioning Grand Cayman in a different category of Caribbean wellness travel.

A New Category For Grand Cayman

Wellness has long been part of the resort experience across Seven Mile Beach. Spas, fitness centers, and treatment menus are standard across the island’s major hotels.

Meraki shifts that model.

This is not attached to a resort. It’s a dedicated destination, designed specifically for wellness, with every component — treatments, thermal areas, fitness, and dining — integrated into a single experience.

The project comes from founders Peter and Shula Clarke, who set out to bring multiple global wellness concepts together in one place on the island.

The name “Meraki” reflects that approach — a concept centered on intention and detail — and that idea carries through the entire property, from the architecture to the treatment menu.

The Hydrotherapy Circuit

At the core of the experience is the hydrotherapy offering, described as the most comprehensive in the Caribbean.

The circuit spans seven distinct environments, built around the traditional sequence of heat, steam, water, and cold exposure.

That includes saunas, steam rooms, and temperature-controlled pools designed to support circulation, recovery, and relaxation.

The headline addition is the Snow Room, the first commissioned installation of its kind in the Caribbean. It introduces a controlled cold environment where guests can experience real snow as part of a contrast therapy sequence.

Another centerpiece is the Panoramic Sauna, described as the largest in the region, expanding the scale and capacity of traditional sauna design in the Caribbean.

Treatment Suites And Advanced Technology

Beyond the thermal areas, the property includes eight treatment suites focused on both hands-on and technology-driven therapies.

The treatment menu incorporates brands like Natura Bissé and Seed to Skin, alongside devices such as EMFACE and the LYMA Laser, which target skin health, muscle tone, and cellular regeneration.

The approach combines traditional spa techniques with newer, non-invasive technologies that have gained traction in global wellness markets.

Beauty And Grooming Spaces

Meraki also extends into dedicated beauty and grooming environments.

The Butterfly Room focuses on nailcare and beauty treatments, designed as a standalone experience within the property rather than an add-on service.

The Gentleman’s Barber, developed in partnership with Truefitt & Hill, brings the heritage British grooming brand to Grand Cayman, offering traditional barbering services alongside modern treatments.

Fitness, Movement, And Recovery

Wellness at Meraki is not limited to spa treatments.

A full Fitness Lounge features equipment from Technogym, covering both cardio and strength training, while a dedicated yoga studio supports guided sessions and individual practice.

The design allows guests to combine movement with recovery in a single visit, moving between workouts, hydrotherapy, and treatments.

A Wellness Café On Site

The experience continues with Plant & Tonic, the on-site café focused on plant-forward, flexitarian dining.

The menu is built around nutrient-driven meals, smoothies, and tonics, with an emphasis on ingredients that support energy and recovery.

The café also partners with WelleCo, integrating supplements into its offerings.

Air Quality As Part Of The Experience

One of the more technical features of the property is its air system.

Meraki uses Zonair3D medical-grade technology to maintain air purity levels of 99.995 percent, a detail that reflects the broader emphasis on controlled, health-focused environments throughout the space.

How You Can Visit

Meraki Wellness operates with both Memberships and day access.

Membership is designed for repeat use and community engagement, while day guests can book treatments, use the hydrotherapy areas, or spend a full day across multiple experiences.

Its location along Seven Mile Beach places it within close reach of major hotels like The Ritz-Carlton, Grand CaymanThe Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa, and The Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort & Spa, making it an easy addition to a stay on the island.

Why It’s Getting Attention

Standalone wellness destinations remain rare in the Caribbean, where most offerings are tied to resorts.

Meraki is introducing a different model — one focused entirely on wellness as the primary draw.

With features like the Snow Room, an expanded hydrotherapy circuit, and integrated fitness and dining, it positions Grand Cayman within a growing global category of destination wellness travel.
