When the lake awakens and the first whispers of spring grace its waters, Grand Hotel Tremezzo prepares to welcome guests back through its storied gates on 19 March, heralding the arrival of a new season steeped in splendour. For this is not merely a return, but a cultural celebration of artistry, heritage, and refined living at its very finest.
Soon-to-return guests will find their own casa in città in the alluring CASABIANCA, a 1930s lakeside villa reimagined as an intimate art residence by Paolo and Antonella De Santis. Their desire to share works curated throughout their life together finds its home within CASABIANCA, which today safeguards part of the De Santis family’s contemporary art collection born from over forty years.
With a strong focus on contemporary Italian artists, this is the place to discover Arte Povera, a movement rooted in the 1960s and 70s, featuring around fifty works including paintings, sculptures and installations by some of the most significant names in the global art landscape: Vedova, Kiefer, Pistoletto, Kentridge, Paolini, Kounellis, among many others.
Spread across three floors and fifteen beautifully restored rooms, there are no labels, no prescribed itinerary and no audio guides. The De Santis family chose not to rely on a curator, making every detail reflect their personal story, taste, and vision.
Enhancing the experience is a collaboration with Cova, the renowned Milanese patisserie embodying Italian excellence and tradition. Its presence on the ground floor evokes the comforting warmth of a true Italian home. At its core, CASABIANCA remains a gracious city home where guests encounter the same spirit of hospitality that has made Grand Hotel Tremezzo and Passalacqua celebrated and loved around the world.
This season, spring returns to the shores of Lake Como with renewed gentleness as Grand Hotel Tremezzo invites guests to experience a collection of moments designed to inspire, restore, and immerse.
A New Room Category Debuts
Expanding its residential offering, Grand Hotel Tremezzo introduces a new Junior Suites with Park View overlooking the property’s centuries-old gardens. Light-filled and elegantly proportioned, the suites combine pastel-toned open-plan interiors with refined period detailing and grand marble bathrooms, bringing the total room count to 77 and reinforcing the hotel’s enduring sense of lakeside glamour.
A Night at the Opera
Como’s opera house – Teatro Sociale, also known as La Piccola Scala – has always been a home to the De Santis’ family and have now added another box that is dedicated to guests at Grand Hotel Tremezzo. Usually exclusive to Como families who are palchettisti (box owners), guests will now be able to enjoy access to a hidden world, including behind-the-scenes tours and pre-premier dinners in private homes – as well as the very best seats in the house.
New Anti-Aging Hammam Treatments
Wellness too evolves with intention and at T Spa, a renewed focus on longevity and anti-aging treatments brings the introduction of the Golden and Silk Skin experience – a 120-minute ritual inspired by ancient beauty traditions and powered by the restorative properties of argan oil. The experience is a luxurious anti-aging ritual designed to nourish, purify and illuminate.
T Spa has also introduced the Collagen Facial, an intensive global anti-aging treatment formulated with 100% pure natural collagen, designed to penetrate the deepest layers of the skin. This powerful facial stimulates the skin’s own natural repair processes, restoring tone, firmness and elasticity.
Sense of Lake
Extending beyond the stay itself, the Sense of Lake collection continues to grow with the forthcoming online release of Aqua Como 1813, the official signature scent of Villa Sola Cabiati, alongside a curated selection of lifestyle pieces. New scarves and ready-to-wear additions translate the spirit of Grand Hotel Tremezzo into wearable form, capturing its elegance, heritage, and identity in pieces meant to be cherished.
