Montage Laguna Beach, the flagship resort of Montage Hotels & Resorts, is pleased to announce the appointment of Cherie Rodriguez as director of spa and retail. With over 20 years of experience in luxury hospitality, Rodriguez will play a pivotal role in shaping the guest experience at the luxury cliffside resort.
“We are thrilled to welcome Cherie back to Montage Laguna Beach,” said Victorio Gonzalez, managing director of Montage Laguna Beach. “Her deep understanding of the Montage brand and passion for the modern wellness experience will invigorate Spa Montage and guide the continued evolution of the resort’s spa and retail offerings.”
As director of spa and retail, Rodriguez oversees the resort’s 20,000-square-foot Spa Montage, guiding treatment programming, associate development, and the overall guest wellness experience, while also leading the property’s retail destinations, including Treasures and Spa Montage Boutique. Since stepping into the role, Rodriguez has introduced enhancements to the spa menu, including a Pacific Glow Method movement class utilizing HigherDOSE Red Light and Near-Infrared Therapy Mats as well as enhanced massage and facial treatments.
Rodriguez’s return to Montage Laguna Beach marks a homecoming nearly two decades in the making. After launching her spa career at La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, California, she joined Montage Laguna Beach in 2006 as a massage therapist and went on to hold a series of leadership roles across the Montage portfolio, including assistant spa manager at the former Montage Beverly Hills, spa operations manager at Montage Laguna Beach, and most recently, director of spa and retail at Pendry San Diego.
