At this point, we’re just days away from kicking off the 2026 San Francisco Windup Watch Fair, and we have to let you in on something. For the last several months, we’ve been working on something special, a project so secret that we didn’t even tell all of our team members until just before this chronicle went live. Admittedly, we’re sorry for keeping such a secret, but we hope you’ll forgive us once you see the result. Without further ado, we’re pleased to announce a brand new Sea Hunter, available exclusively at a Windup Watch Fair near you!
After the success of the Snorkel limited editions last year and the new Sea Hunter collection, the team at Bulova came to us with a simple question: how could they create the “perfect” version of the Sea Hunter? Leveraging our personal experiences with the Sea Hunter and the feedback we’ve heard from our community, we returned a substantial list of ideas to the team at Bulova, some of which were selected, and some that may be considered at a later time.
While the new Sea Hunter was a very faithful modernization of the vintage piece, our first ask was to remove the date complication and simplify the dial’s appearance. Even though the modern Sea Hunter’s date window visually occupied a smaller section of the dial than the original, forgoing the date complication allowed for, in our opinion, the best-looking variant of the model to date. Ultimately, the Bulova team was able to accommodate this request through a new dial while utilizing the same Miyota 8125 movement as the standard model. There is a “ghost date” position on the crown, but it won’t affect your day-to-day wearing experience.
Speaking of that new dial, our next idea was to play with color combinations of the Sea Hunter, utilizing the existing dials and cases to create something unique. We asked Bulova if we could steal the green dial from the gold-toned case and pop it into the stainless case. We weren’t sure if we wanted to bring over the green bezel, but found the contrast of the black bezel to visually look the best. Of course, we had to keep the iconic “666 Feet” water resistance callout, paying tribute to the original Devil Diver. nge award last year.
There was one last feature request that made it into this special edition: we wanted an additional option to replace the bracelet. While there’s nothing wrong with the default bracelet, there’s nothing more frustrating than getting a new watch and not being able to immediately wear it. To remedy this, Bulova has included an additional, quick-release tan nylon strap that allows you to purchase and don your new watch as quickly as possible.

The new Bulova x Windup Watch Shop Sea Hunter will be available for viewing and pre-order at the San Francisco Windup Watch fair, with shipping to begin in June. Inventory will be on hand and available for purchase at both the Chicago and New York City fairs. Limited to just 225 pieces in total, 75 pieces will be available at each of our remaining fairs this year, with a retail price of $380.
