【F】 Artem’s New Stellar Azure Loop-Less HydroFlex FKM Strap

Artem expands its HydroFlex Loop-Less strap collection with a new Stellar Azure light blue color. Against the brand’s usual neutral and earthy tones, this vibrant blue immediately stands out. Also, alongside the orange Solar Flare and red Blood Moon editions, it shows Artem’s continuing exploration of bolder, more expressive colors. The light blue shade works especially well in casual settings. It can turn even serious tool watches into relaxed summer companions. Despite its playful look, the HydroFlex platform remains rugged and dependable. The strap emphasizes comfort above all else. Its breathable FKM rubber construction pairs with a sailcloth-inspired texture for a refined finish. The Stellar Azure Loop-Less HydroFlex strap delivers the premium feel expected from Artem’s aftermarket lineup.

Receiving two versions of the Artem Stellar Azure HydroFlex strap, in 20mm and 21mm widths, left me conflicted. The bold color demands the right watch pairing. I first tried it with blue-dial watches, like my Breitling SuperOcean Heritage. The royal-blue dial and bezel clashed with the lighter strap. The same issue appeared with my Omega × Swatch MoonSwatch Mission to Neptune. Sometimes, too much blue really is too much. Next, I considered the Rolex Yacht-Master ref. 126622. Its pale blue seconds hand makes it an ideal match. Artem even uses this pairing in its promotional images. Unfortunately, I don’t own that watch. Still, its silvery-gray dial and platinum bezel guided my thinking toward more neutral tones.

My recently purchased and much-loved Omega Planet Ocean in gunmetal gray fits that vision perfectly. The neutral case lets the strap shine. Its 21mm lug spacing also highlights Artem’s attention to uncommon sizes. Attaching the strap takes seconds. All Loop‑less HydroFlex straps include quick‑release spring bars as standard. Comfort is immediate. The molded FKM rubber feels supple yet durable straight out of the box. The textured sailcloth pattern adds visual depth while keeping a sporty edge.

I also appreciate the subtle taper on the topside. It balances the Planet Ocean’s chunky case and flows cleanly toward the stainless steel deployant clasp. Flat straps often feel awkward, especially on thicker watches. The added padding near the spring bars gives this strap a more purposeful, athletic presence.

The edge taper feels just right. It narrows from 21mm at the lugs to 18mm at the clasp without looking abrupt. Other HydroFlex colors in similar widths offer a taper down to 16mm. That option is not yet available for the Stellar Azure edition. I also tested the 20mm version on my Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch. I briefly considered pairing it with my Silver Snoopy, which currently lives on a navy-blue Cosmic Tide Artem strap.

Once again, the color mismatch stood out too much with the Stellar Azure edition. Instead, the monochrome Moonwatch proved the better fit. On both the Planet Ocean and the Speedmaster, the Stellar Azure HydroFlex strap felt exceptionally comfortable. This strap is all about that vibrant blue energy. It feels made for summer sun, beach days, and poolside drinks.

Final thoughts and pricing

A song played in my head every time I strapped on the Stellar Azure HydroFlex. The track was “Aozora” by Australian rock band Karnivool. Aozora (青空) means “blue sky” in Japanese. Given Artem’s Australian roots and the strap’s bright blue tone, the connection felt perfect.

Pricing for the Stellar Azure edition is US$248 / £194 across all sizes. The optional stainless steel deployant clasp costs US$87 / £68, bringing the total to US$335 / £262. This option suits those who prefer not to use an OEM clasp. I enjoy having an Artem buckle available. It saves me from having to swap clasps whenever I change straps.
