The Sirius Hotel Group has appointed Matt Lederer to the newly-created role of Director of Acquisitions.

Lederer joins the company following its rebranding from Resident Hotels, as it seeks to grow alongside capital partners as a specialist hotel management platform developing and operating prime city centre hotels.

He has held senior roles within professional services, including SVP at JLL and Development Director at Marriott International, where he was involved in growing brands such as Moxy, Residence Inn and Courtyard by Marriott. Most recently, Lederer spent nearly six years as Hotel Acquisitions Director at private equity firm Castleforge.

He said: “I am thrilled to be joining The Sirius Hotel Group at this pivotal stage of its expansion.

“The hotel sector continues to move into the mainstream as an asset class, and with it comes growing demand from investors for the experience and knowledge found across the team at The Sirius Hotel Group.”

David Orr, CEO, The Sirius Hotel Group, said: “Matt brings an exceptional track record and reputation within our sector, with deep expertise in both securing investment partners and hotel acquisitions. He will lead our growth plans as we enter the next chapter of The Sirius Hotel Group.

“Matt’s experience speaks for itself. He has a deep understanding and appreciation for hotel operations, bringing a crucial awareness of how to grow an operational business with its combination of cohesive strategies across disciplines.”

“Our abilities across conversions, office to hotel, hotel to hotel or new developments are established, but Matt brings an entirely new dimension to our capabilities and ambition.”

The Sirius Hotel Group’s strategy is to grow the portfolio by more than 20 hotels in the next six to 10 years, taking the group to over 30 hotels.

The group’s reputation-led track-record for developing, repositioning and operating hotels was reaffirmed in 2025 with the successful conversion of four Four Points Flex by Sheraton and the trading performance success of The Resident Edinburgh, which opened at the end of 2024. The group’s partnership as a Marriott International franchisee was cemented by the Four Points Flex by Sheraton conversions. The group’s own Upper Upscale brand, The Resident, has all five hotels in the top ten TripAdvisor rankings for London, Liverpool and Edinburgh as of April 2026.
