Fauchon L’Hôtel Kyoto will celebrate its fifth anniversary on 16 March 2026, consolidating its position as the French brand’s first gourmet hotel in Japan and its second hotel property worldwide.

Developed, invested in and operated by the group affiliated with World Brands Collection Hotels & Resorts Ltd., a subsidiary of Wealth Management Inc., and managed by Fauchon Hospitality, the hotel forms part of the global expansion strategy of the Fauchon brand within the upscale hospitality sector.

Since its opening, the property has steadily consolidated the concept “FAUCHON Meets Kyoto”, which proposes a fusion between Kyoto’s cultural and aesthetic heritage and Parisian gastronomic savoir-faire, a positioning that underpins its differentiation within Japan’s highly competitive luxury market.

“It is an honour to lead Fauchon L’Hôtel Kyoto at this symbolic moment of five years in operation,” says Kiyoshi Gomamoto, General Manager. “Since the pre-opening phase, our objective has been to build a hotel that unites Fauchon’s ‘Joy of Living through Gastronomy’ with the refined elegance of Kyoto. We will continue to strengthen our operational excellence and deliver a truly unique experience for guests from Japan and around the world.”

From the ownership perspective, the anniversary also reflects a long-term strategic vision. “The centuries-long cultural and gastronomic dialogue between Paris, France and Kyoto, Japan holds a unique place in the Japanese market. Paris and Kyoto, two cities shaped by deep history and refined traditions, share a common spirit: a respect for heritage combined with a constant pursuit of innovation. This mutual affinity is at the heart of the warm reception our hotel has received in Kyoto.” says Hiroshi Komoto, CEO of World Brands Collection Hotels & Resorts Ltd., “Five years after opening, the hotel has established a distinctive vision of luxury through gastronomy, bringing together UNESCO-recognised French gastronomic tradition and Kyoto’s seasonal culinary culture. By pairing Kyoto’s finest ingredients with classic French culinary techniques, we offer refined dining experiences that resonate strongly with discerning international guests. This harmony between Parisian elegance and Kyoto’s heritage defines our identity and continues to position the hotel as a meaningful bridge between the two cultures.”

As part of the anniversary celebrations, the hotel has organised a series of initiatives that embody its strategic positioning.

Exclusive Accommodation Plan – An Immersive Kyoto Experience
From 1 February 2026, a limited commemorative package will be available for five groups only, valid for stays between 1 March and 31 August 2026.

At ¥500,000 per night (for up to two guests, including taxes and fees), the package includes suite accommodation with access to the Fauchon Lounge and five exclusive benefits: a rickshaw tour of the Gion district, a one-day kimono experience, a photography session in Kyoto, a 90-minute bespoke treatment at Le Spa Fauchon with a private bath, and a dinner with pairing at the hotel’s restaurant.

The offering positions the hotel as a premium base for experiencing Kyoto from a cultural perspective integrated with the brand’s gastronomic identity.

Special Menu “Hommage à Kyoto”

At the hotel’s top-floor restaurant, Grand Café Fauchon, the commemorative menu “Hommage à Kyoto” will be available from 15 February to 31 March 2026.

The experience expresses the concept “FAUCHON Meets Kyoto” through the application of French culinary techniques to local ingredients, including Miyazu fish, Kyoto Nanatani duck, and a dessert featuring Uji matcha. The menu can be paired with five beverages selected by the sommelier, inspired by Kyoto’s traditional Five Mountains.

On 16 March, the official anniversary date, the restaurant will present a special anniversary buffet as part of its 5th anniversary celebrations

Themed Cocktails Inspired by the Five Mountains

Le Bar Fauchon will feature a selection of cocktails inspired by the traditional Gozan Okuribi, Kyoto’s summer bonfire ceremony. This initiative strengthens the dialogue between local culture and the international brand identity, enhancing the sensory proposition of Fauchon.

Marking five years of operation, Fauchon L’Hôtel Kyoto reaffirms its commitment to gastronomic excellence, brand consistency, and the consolidation of a hospitality model that connects Paris and Kyoto with a clearly differentiated offering in the global luxury market.
