With a rising number of Asian travellers seeking deeper connections over quick escapes, South Palms Resort & Spa Panglao – MGallery Collection invites guests from across the region to unwind and enjoy a series of curated experiences that foster meaningful moments and a stronger connection with the destination. Opened in August 2025, this new property marks the first MGallery resort in the Philippines, joining the iconic Admiral Hotel Manila – MGallery Collection in the capital.

Nestled on a stretch of white sand overlooking the turquoise Bohol Sea, South Palms Resort & Spa Panglao – MGallery Collection was inspired by the legend of Sirenna, the “Spirit of the Sea.” Woven seamlessly into this beautiful beachside landscape, the resort was designed using natural materials, while paying homage to the time-honoured stories, folkloric traditions, and organic produce that have shaped life in Bohol over the centuries.

For Asia’s new generation of conscientious couples and free-spirited families, this provides the perfect setting for immersive cultural, recreational and wellness activities underpinned by the international luxury of the MGallery Collection.
Design Rooted in Boholano Heritage

The resort’s architecture was conceived by leading designers including Patricia Ho of White Jacket and Philip Pond of Atelier Pond, who drew inspiration from Bohol’s folklore, landscapes and coastal traditions. Their vision blends contemporary resort design with local storytelling, creating spaces that flow naturally through tropical gardens and beachfront scenery while celebrating the island’s cultural identity.

At South Palms Resort & Spa Panglao – MGallery Collection, local storytelling pervades the entire guest journey, from immersive workshops to cultural rituals that connect travellers to the destination. Each of the 188 rooms and suites has been crafted from century-old wood, reclaimed from Bohol’s ancestral houses, while ancient Badlit-suwat script artworks and indigenous tribal patterns adorn the interiors. Throughout their stay, Asian visitors can enjoy workshops to learn traditional musical instruments, such as the kulintang, kawayan and djembe at Aya’s Jungle.

Under MGallery’s signature M Moment, guests can discover “asin tibuok” – a rare type of sea salt that is only found in this part of the Philippines. An exclusive excursion delves into the age-old process of extracting this unique product, and how it is used in contemporary cuisine and wellness. Then, as day turns to night, the Sirenna Ritual is a mesmerising sunset ceremony with tribal dancing, drumming and fire-lighting, derived from Visayan legend.

With its beachfront environment, South Palms Resort & Spa Panglao – MGallery Collection is a haven of recreation where visitors can uncover the beauty of the natural world, above and beneath the waves. Just 150 metres offshore, the Sirenna Plane Wreck attracts an amazing array of tropical fish and other oceanic dwellers, while the warm, shallow seas and vibrant coral reef create safe conditions for all ages to swim and snorkel. Active travellers can feel the refreshing spray of the waves with kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding at the resort’s Aqua Sports Center, and adventure seekers can take boat rides to nearby islands, such as Balicasag and Pamilacan, embark on PADI-certified diving courses, or dolphin watching trips. For young guests, the Mermaid Swimming Classes will teach vital life skills and could create a new-found love of the water.

Just 1km from the resort, South Farm lets eco-conscious explorers embrace the art of sustainable island living with animal feeding experiences, carabao-drawn cart rides, hydroponic greenhouse tours and more, to gain a deeper understanding of the island’s organic heritage.

With its natural setting and profound respect for Boholano heritage, South Palms Resort & Spa Panglao – MGallery Collection is a destination where all ages can feel a sense of physical, mental and spiritual renewal. Lola’s Sanctuary is an oasis of wellbeing where spa treatments are inspired by the island’s ancient healing wisdom. Using fresh herbs sourced from the resort and South Farm, guests can feel the soothing sensation of a traditional hilot massage, which uses coconut oil, lemongrass, and asin tibuok – the local salt.

Lola’s Kitchen serves detox juices and herbal teas, while also hosting educational sessions on time-honoured healing practices. This is just one example of the resort’s farm-to-table dining ethos, while UNA focuses on authentic Filipino cuisine using ingredients from South Farm. A comprehensive wellness programme features sunrise beach yogamindful walks through the gardens and coastal paths, Zumba and breathwork exercises, and agility training with expert instructors.

With mindfulness woven throughout the resort, South Palms Resort & Spa Panglao – MGallery Collection is empowering a new generation of Asian travellers – from couples to free-spirited families – to embrace mindful, experience-led travel rooted in nature and folklore. And with sustainability at its core, including green power from solar panels and 80% wastewater recycling, every traveller can enjoy the peace-of-mind that their stay is in harmony with the environment.

South Palms Resort & Spa Panglao – MGallery Collection is just 5km from Bohol-Panglao International Airport, which offers direct flights from Seoul and Busan, as well as seamless one-stop connections to many other Asian cities via Manila.
