Lošinj Hotels & Villas is delighted to announce that Boutique Hotel Alhambra has been awarded ‘Best Spa Hotel – Croatia’ and Hotel Bellevue has been awarded ‘Highly Commended’ for ‘Best Spa Hotel – Croatia’ in the Global Spa Awards by The Luxury Spa Edit™ 2026. Each of these prestigious accolades reaffirms the island’s global reputation for restorative luxury travel.

The Global Spa Awards by The Luxury Spa Edit™ 2026 are recognised as one of the most celebrated honours in the luxury spa and wellness industry. Initially, nominees are selected by a panel of leading experts in wellness and travel before the winners are determined by a public vote. This year’s Award Expert Panel included some of the industry’s most respected voices, including Gerri Gallagher (Tatler Spa Guide, Tatler Beauty & Cosmetic Surgery Guide), Sue Harmsworth MBE (Founder, ESPA & SATCC; Global Wellness Institute Board), Juliet Kinsman (Sustainability Editor, Condé Nast Traveller), Kent Richards (Founder, Wellness World Global), and Tracey Woodward (CEO & Non-Executive Director, Global Spa and Beauty Brands).

Located in Čikat Bay on the Croatian island of Lošinj, Boutique Hotel Alhambra is an Art Nouveau and Neoclassical retreat that celebrates the scientifically-proven, restorative nature of the island. Its multi-award-winning Cube Spa, a 660 m2 sanctuary, channels Lošinj’s legacy as a 19th-century health resort through tailor-made treatments that use local herbs and Aleppo pine oils. A true highlight is the Kurhaus Inhalation Bar, inspired by the original Spa Commission’s 1892 creation, when aristocrats used ceramic jugs to inhale a calming mist of seawater and medicinal essential oils. This ritual of “breathing health” is available to modern-day guests, offering a sensory experience that honours the island’s healing heritage.

With a heated indoor seawater pool, three treatment rooms, and a spa suite with a Rasul Chamber, Cube Spa is a tranquil oasis. Guests can unwind in the Finnish sauna or Mediterranean Bath before moving through the “Water Paradise” with four sensory showers, tepidarium-style heated benches, and an ice fountain.

Mere steps away is Hotel Bellevue with its uber-chic Bellevue Spa Clinic, the meeting point of high-tech therapies and the island’s healing traditions. This award-winning lifestyle spa was built around the purifying power of the Adriatic with an indoor and outdoor seawater pool, private garden, and a serene relaxation zone surrounded by the Aleppo pine forest. Guests can choose from the signature spa experiences, such as the Sea-Tox, or personalised wellness programmes designed by physicians, nutritionists, and kinesiologists, all supported by premium spa brands and cutting-edge technologies. This wellness ecosystem combines science with the natural detoxifying effects of Lošinj’s sea air, offering transformative results in a contemporary ambience.
