We have covered quite a few Venezianico releases over the past two years. If there is one thing that stands out, it’s how the brand has constantly raised the bar in design, quality, and movements. Midway through last year, Venezianio took a bold step into the future with the release of the Redentore Utopia. It introduced a custom-developed movement and combined it with a stylish watch with a stunning dial. In the next step, the Venetian brand introduces two new Redentore Utopia II models featuring a new version of the proprietary caliber and a spectacular duo of dials. It makes the Venezianico Redentore Utopia II exciting new watches to take for a spin.
One of last year’s most interesting Venezianico releases was, without a doubt, the Redentore Utopia. As Mike wrote in his intro article, it’s been remarkable to see Venezianico’s journey over the past few years. The brand has truly upped its game with the design of its watches, production quality, and the calibers inside them. Last year’s Redentore Utopia was a benchmark release, as it was the first Venezianico watch powered by a custom-developed, Italian-made movement. With a wonderfully detailed, handcrafted dial, it was a release that Mike deservedly called “a huge step forward.”
The story of the Venezianico Redentore Utopia II
This story now gets a sequel with the release of the two new Venezianico Redentore Utopia II models. But there’s more to these two watches than new dial colors. The team at Venezianico also decided to produce two new, wonderfully detailed guilloché dials and added a detailed finish to the proprietary caliber. As a result, these new releases go beyond just new color variations, and I greatly appreciate that.
Let’s kick things off with some basic specs before we dive into the details. The two new models still have the same case as the inaugural Redentore Utopia. It boasts a nice 38mm diameter, 8.9mm thickness, and 44.2mm lug-to-lug length.
The case has an organic, flowing overall form with a few angular lines to add modernity. A mix of brushed and polished surfaces provides plenty of visual contrast when the watch is on the wrist. Additionally, the contemporary case has beautiful proportions, making it the perfect canvas for a modern dress watch.
The special dials of the Venezianico Redentore Utopia II
Each case houses a dial created in collaboration with Atelier Renzetti. This workshop is devoted to the art of traditional guilloché, and these dials are a perfect display of that. The atelier engraved each dial entirely by hand on vintage 19th-century rose-engine lathes, using no electricity in their creation.
The first of the two variants is the Alpha, which features a dial with a gold-toned galvanic finish. The color takes inspiration from the reflections of Venetian facades and mosaics. It reflects Venice’s decorative heritage and artistic tradition. This model comes fitted with a black calfskin strap to finish the look.
The second is the Beta model, which features a dial with a deep graphite galvanic finish. Venice’s structural materials inspired this color. Whether it is the color of wrought iron, railings, or mooring posts, the dark gray tone reflects the materials that keep Venice balanced above the water. The Redentore Utopia II Beta comes fitted with a hand-finished gray Saffiano leather strap. Due to the dials’ and straps’ different colors, each model has a distinct look.
The unique handcrafted Marea dial motif
Both dials feature a handcrafted Marea pattern developed specifically for these two watches. The motif reflects the waves of the Venetian lagoon and their constant movement and transformation. It’s amazing to think that every line you see here was sculpted by hand following a slow, controlled rhythm. The precision and craft that go into making these dials is wonderful, and it shows. The only added detail on the dials is the brand’s applied cross logo.
Encircling each beautifully detailed dial is a brushed chapter ring that holds the hour markers. Hovering over the dial are two sharp dagger-style hands for the hours and minutes, and a razor-thin seconds hand. They match the overall style perfectly, which is characterized by the contemporary case and classic dial. It’s an impressive duo of watches that immediately stands out.
The V5001 caliber
But it doesn’t just end with the presence of the dials. If you turn the watches around, you’ll see Venezianico’s proprietary V5001 caliber. This movement is a natural evolution of the V5000 introduced last year. For this new V5001, the level of finishing is higher, setting a new benchmark for the brand.
Just like the V5000, this new V5001 is produced for Venezianico by OISA and was designed by OISA’s technical director, Fausto Berizzi, and Venezianico’s head of product development, Andrea Menegazzo. The new movement follows the architecture and specs of the original V5000. The manual-winding caliber operates at 25,200 vibrations per hour, has a 60-hour power reserve, and offers an accuracy of ±3 seconds per day.
Thanks to a 24K gold galvanic coating, the bridges and mainplate look warm and luxurious. Additionally, we find a mix of double-snailed wheels, radial Côtes de Genève, and fine perlage.
On top of that, the double-anchored balance bridge features étirage finishing and a variable-inertia balance in a copper-beryllium alloy. Protecting this is the Kif Elastor shock-protection system. All the components, even the ones that you can’t see, have been finished beautifully, adding to the overall beauty of this V5001 caliber.
Wearing the Venezianico Venezianico Redentore Utopia II
Immediately after putting one of these two Redentore Utopia II models on the wrist, you know you are wearing something special. I started with the Alpha variant, and because the dial was so striking, I found myself staring at it again and again and admiring the craftsmanship that went into it. Visually, the Alpha model jumps off the wrist, and it brought a smile to my face multiple times. The Beta version, with its dark gray dial, is more serious, a little quieter, and more distinguished, if you will.
Because of this, the Beta model is the one I would wear more often with my daily outfits. But, my goodness, that gold-colored dial pops! Also, the Redentore Utopia II models are super comfortable on the wrist. The 38mm size is perfect for a modern dress watch, and the spot-on proportions were ideal for my wrist. When taking the watch off to wind the caliber or set the time, I could feel the quality of the new caliber inside. It really is in a different league compared to the standard Redentore models.
Final thoughts on the new Venezianico Redentore Utopia II models
Overall, I love how Venezianico is showing new levels of craftsmanship and watchmaking quality that raise the bar for the brand every time. And fans seem to love it too. Priced at €4,500, the Venezianico Redentore Utopia II Alpha and Beta were available for pre-order for 72 hours, starting on Monday, January 28th. The first 100 pieces of both models will be delivered in late February 2026, and the remaining pieces sold will be delivered in May 2026. Unfortunately, if you want one of these watches, you won’t be able to buy it now, as they have all sold out.
But knowing Venezianico, the brand will undoubtedly grace us with more new Redentore Utopia models soon. And if the first three variants are an indication of what’s to come, I am very curious to see what the Venetian brand’s next move will be. These two Venezianico Redentore Utopia II models are nothing short of impressive.
