Breeze Airways Is Launching New Nonstop Flights Between Tampa and Nassau

Breeze Airways is adding a new nonstop route to The Bahamas, with the airline announcing fresh airlift between Tampa, Florida and Nassau that will begin next summer.

The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Investments & Aviation confirmed the new service this week, calling it another step in the country’s continued push to expand air connectivity from key U.S. source markets.

The news comes as Nassau was recently named the number one Caribbean destination to visit in 2026.

Beginning June 11, 2026, Breeze will operate twice-weekly nonstop flights between Tampa and Nassau, giving travelers on Florida’s Gulf Coast a new direct option to reach the Bahamian capital during the peak summer travel season.

The route positions Tampa as an additional gateway for visitors looking for easy, nonstop access to Nassau, and it also supports the country’s broader strategy of strengthening airlift — particularly from high-volume U.S. markets.

For The Bahamas, Florida remains one of the most important source markets in the country, with strong demand across both short-break travel and longer vacation stays, especially in Nassau and nearby Paradise Island.

The new service also marks Nassau as Breeze Airways’ fourth international destination, signaling continued airline confidence in The Bahamas as a year-round leisure market.

Breeze has built its brand around direct service between underserved markets, often bypassing the traditional hub model in favor of point-to-point flying. The carrier operates a modern Airbus A220 fleet and is known for flexible fare options aimed at value-conscious travelers, along with a more elevated onboard experience than many ultra-low-cost competitors.

The Tampa–Nassau route is part of Breeze’s broader summer expansion across the United States and the Caribbean, as airlines continue to chase demand for short-haul leisure travel — particularly to destinations with strong resort infrastructure and consistent year-round appeal.

The new flights mean another convenient way to reach Nassau, which remains one of the region’s most popular Caribbean destinations. Nassau is home to some of The Bahamas’ best-known resorts, including Atlantis Paradise Island, the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar, and Rosewood Baha Mar, along with easy access to beaches, boating, offshore islands and a growing culinary scene.
