I think my fascination with high-end, complicated watches is pretty well known, and a jump-hour minute repeater from any brand is anotable offering at the top tier of the market. Last year’s Gérald Genta minute repeater felt impressive. That watch is listed at CHF 320,000 (or around $400,000), and the added complication and more involved case design led me to believe we’d see a price above CHF 350,000. Instead, we got a less expensive watch with an added complication. I wrote about the competing offerings on the market in our previous coverage. For jump hour minute repeaters, the Lange Zeitwerk Minute Repeater in Honeygold feels like the obvious comparison. That watch retails for €500,000, but the jump hour itself is more complex. That makes this seem like a comparative bargain, if anything over $50,000 (or multiples of that, in this case) can be called that.
