Growing up in Georgia, I’ve always known “tiny” to be for big-city folk or mountain-goers, and I’m neither. However, one aspect of a home will force even a suburban fellow like myself towards the leasing office — or Amazon — and that’s expansive windows. So, you’ll have no trouble figuring out why I’m loving this moody and modern tiny home. With its dark wood exterior and black-framed, floor-to-ceiling windows, it exudes the aesthetic of Andrew Zimmern’s Twin Cities abode. I’d argue it’s something he’d vacation in, tucked into a clearing within a forested area and cozily disconnected from a busy world. Sounds relaxing, doesn’t it? Just wait until you read about the chef-worthy kitchen inside.

At almost 394 square feet and with 8-foot-tall walls, this tiny house is bigger than the condos I’ve stayed in on vacation. Much of the space is allocated to the kitchen, which — as it should — occupies two walls. On one side, a full row of wall and floor cabinets with drawers offers ample kitchen-tool storage room. The countertops are spacious, and I’d immediately plan for a compact air fryer toaster oven, a small espresso machine, and a drying mat, on which you can let dishes rest while you eat and enjoy your window views.
The other wall of the kitchen is my favorite, because it’s customizable and gives you an impressive window for a tiny house. I’d leave the window unobstructed by installing a 24-inch refrigerator to its left and a rolling kitchen cart at its underside. You could ask the manufacturer to fill in the space with extra counters, but I’d rather keep things flexible in the already small home. As long as you grab some other compact essentials, like a portable induction cooktop and a mobile range hood, the kitchen is fully equipped and ready for home-cheffing.
If all the kitchen space wasn’t amazing enough already, the third wall, which connects to the living area, is the perfect dining nook. Against it, I’d set out a space-conscious bistro set, but the appeal of this tiny home, and many of Amazon’s others, is that its weatherproof and durable stainless steel structure is expandable. You can order this mini of Andrew Zimmern’s Twin Cities abode in layouts up to 19 x 40 feet, which is spacious enough for a full living and dining set, two more bedrooms, and several more windows. At its largest size, this house would make a wonderful vacation spot for a small family or a permanent home for someone who likes to host intimate gatherings.
Starting at only $9,100, this 2-bedroom, full-bathroom prefab tiny house is less expensive than most, and it offers top-notch customizability. Before committing to it and opening up its French doors to beautiful views, ensure you contact the seller through Amazon’s buyer-seller messaging service for the best purchase protection while requesting your desired features, amenities, and final pricing. Afterwards, sit back and wait for your foldable tiny house to arrive in a few weeks at most.
