This Cabin-Style Amazon Tiny House Is Less Than $19K

My favorite winter activity is sitting outside when the weather is frigid, wrapping myself in a warm blanket, and toasting marshmallows around a fire pit. I love the cozy juxtaposition of cold air and hot fire, but mostly, I love the taste of gooey, burnt marshmallows and melted chocolate. 

Without a backyard, this activity has been more dream than reality in recent years, but now that I found this cabin-style tiny house on Amazon for less than $19,000, this might be my chance to flip the script. Of course, a purchase like this would mean moving out of my crowded southern California neighborhood and my husband leaving his job — neither of which he would want to do — but one can hope. Maybe its large kitchen and full bathroom would sway him. If not, I bet the tiny home’s massive outdoor deck, alongside the promise of smog-free air and less traffic, would at least give him pause. These basics, after all, are a luxury where we live. 

Generic Portable Prefab Tiny House 

This tiny home is both functional and portable. Part of its appeal is that it’s easy to break down and set up again if you like to experience new places without camping in cars or sleeping in hotels. It has a chic wood exterior that’s reminiscent of a quaint mountain cabin; a fully operational kitchen with plenty of counter space for an air fryer toaster oven, a pressure cooker, and more multifunctional appliances; and a bathroom, living room, and at least two bedrooms. Outside, the deck wraps around the back of the house with plenty of room for a portable gas grill, a compact patio table, a few chairs, and a small fire pit. 

Since this house is customizable, you can also request a second story and up to five rooms. It’s 20 feet at its smallest configuration, but it can expand up to 40 feet for those willing to pay more. No matter what, you’re assured a functional kitchen, a working bathroom, and an outdoor patio. 

Since my husband is unlikely to say yes to this particular fantasy, I’ll forever be jealous of anyone who gets to live in this tiny, but luxurious house. Toast a s’more for me, will you?
