St Kitts Is Getting a New Flight from Puerto Rico This Winter

St. Kitts is set to become more accessible than ever with the launch of nonstop service from San Juan, Puerto Rico, via interCaribbean Airways. Beginning Dec. 18, 2025, the new twice-weekly route will reconnect St. Kitts with one of the region’s most important air hubs, creating new opportunities for both leisure and business travel.

The new service will operate on Mondays and Fridays, with Flight JY643 departing San Juan at 17:20 and arriving in St. Kitts at 18:30. The return flight, JY644, will depart St. Kitts on Thursdays and Sundays at 08:30, arriving in San Juan at 09:40. The 1-hour and 10-minute journey means connections to the U.S. mainland and greater access across the Eastern Caribbean.

“This route marks another important step in our mission to connect the people and cultures of the Caribbean,” said Trevor Sadler, CEO of interCaribbean Airways. “By establishing nonstop service between San Juan and St. Kitts, we’re creating a vital link between two key Caribbean gateways, offering travelers fast and convenient access to major U.S. markets and enhanced Eastern Caribbean connectivity for both leisure and business travel.”

St Kitts Tourism Minister Marsha Henderson said the new route is a major step forward for the island’s airlift strategy.

“This new route from San Juan marks a significant milestone in strengthening St. Kitts’ regional and international connectivity,” she said. “We are deeply grateful to interCaribbean Airways for their continued partnership and commitment to the region. This service not only opens easier access for visitors from Puerto Rico and connecting U.S. gateways, but also creates new opportunities for trade, business, and cultural exchange, further driving St. Kitts’ tourism growth and economic development.”

The new flight is a “game-changer,” according to Kelly Fontenelle, Chief Executive Officer of the St. Kitts Tourism Authority.

“San Juan serves as a major hub,” Fontenelle said. “This renewed connection will significantly boost regional tourism and provide seamless travel options for visitors eager to experience the destination.”

For travelers seeking multi-island adventures, the route further positions St. Kitts as a convenient and connected gateway between the Eastern Caribbean and North America.
