This Fun Whiskey Advent Calendar Always Sells Out

Great whiskeys come from all over the world. And while it may be fun and even convenient to take a trip to your favorite distillery and taste through its finest offerings, it might not be quite as feasible to fly around the planet sampling spirits from Scotland, Japan, Australia, and Finland. It can also get expensive (and rowdy) to constantly belly up to your favorite whiskey bar to try interesting sips. It’s a rather genius idea, then, that the spirit curators at Flaviar thought to pair the concept of whiskey flights with that of the advent calendar — which is exactly the experience you’ll get with the Flaviar Whiskey Advent Calendar 2025.

The good news is that while this advent calendar does sell out every year, not only is it still in stock, but it’s only available for another week— and while it’s not on sale, there’s a discount if you buy more than one.

Flaviar Whiskey Advent Calendar 2025

Flaviar

I’m personally a rather big whiskey fan (Scotch is my preferred cup of tea), so I was pretty thrilled when Flaviar sent me its new advent calendar to test. Every year, Flaviar’s calendar features a different theme; last year, it was “Hotel Flaviar,” a made-up luxury hotel where each Advent day offered a chance to holiday in countries around the world. This year, the theme is “Flaviar Airlines,” where — you guessed it — you fly to different corners of the world to taste whiskey.

The huge, silver box everything comes in is stunning and designed to look like a suitcase — complete with stickers from the countries and states you’ll be “traveling” to. It’s something you’ll love having on your bar, mantle, or countertop throughout the month. Once you open it, you can pry open a new “ticket” every day, exposing the beaker of whiskey you’ll be trying. The set also comes with two Glencairn tasting glasses, because, as Flaviar puts it, “proper glassware is standard in first class.” This concept might sound a bit fantastical to the old-school whiskey enjoyer, but I’m here to tell you that it is unbelievably fun, and the whiskey curation is top-notch.

With the set comes a “Tasting Passport,” which starts by giving whiskey tasting instructions (it’s designed to look like a pre-flight safety demonstration). Each stop in the passport corresponds to a whiskey you’ll be tasting, and the entries include tasting notes, distillery history, and a “captain’s briefing” that plays like the bartender or an expert friend telling you what you’re in for as you’re about to take a sip. As someone who’s been to a ton of wine and spirit tastings, I found that if you’re willing to go with it, this experience actually does mirror that of a professionally-led tasting. This sampler is one of the best remote tasting experiences I’ve ever had the opportunity to try, and I can’t wait until next year’s calendar.

I don’t want to give too much away about the actual spirits included, because discovering them each day is part of the fun. I will say that most of the major whiskey regions in the world are represented, and in some cases, with limited-edition releases. Whether you love Highland single malt Scotch, Okinawan whiskey, domestic bottled-in-bond rye, or unique mashbills (in this case, a whiskey with four grains), you’ll find something to enjoy.

Whatever your favorite type of whiskey, I’m pretty confident that if you buy a ticket for this flight, you’ll enter 2026 with a much deeper knowledge of the whiskeys of the world, as well as some new favorite distilleries and regions to explore. Just make sure to pre-order before it sells out — and don’t forget that you’ll get a very nice discount if you pick up more than one.
