The beaches of Eleuthera are getting a little closer to South Florida. Bahamasair has announced a new nonstop route from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport to North Eleuthera Airport, operating every Wednesday and Sunday through Jan. 4, 2026.
The new route will start Nov. 23, officials confirmed to Caribbean Journal.
Roundtrip fares start at $316, offering travelers an easy, affordable escape to one of The Bahamas’ most beloved outer islands.
The flight opens the door to a classic Bahamian getaway — pink-sand beaches, charming pastel-colored towns and a slower, more restorative pace.
North Eleuthera is the gateway to Harbour Island and Spanish Wells, both just a short ferry ride away, making it an ideal destination for a long weekend or microcation.
Of course, you can also make the drive to the rest of Eleuthera’s wonders, from the increasingly popular Governor’s Harbour to the legendary Cape Eleuthera resort on the island’s southern tip.
Eleuthera has long drawn travelers seeking a more authentic island experience, with its historic settlements, turquoise shallows and intimate beach resorts.
The launch of this route makes it easier than ever to swap the everyday for a quick tropical escape — no long-haul flight required.
