New Caribbean Travel Series Blends Food, Culture and Exploration

NextTrip has announced the launch of “TIDE”, a new original travel series set to premiere exclusively on JOURNY’s streaming and on-demand platforms. The series blends cultural exploration with culinary storytelling, spotlighting chefs who bring local flavors and stories back to the deck.

At the core of the concept is a simple idea: every port tells a story, and every story ends on a plate. Each episode follows a featured chef as they step ashore to explore markets, farms, cafés, and workshops, gathering ingredients and inspiration that culminate in an intimate pop-up dining experience onboard. The result is a mix of local discovery and high-level gastronomy, framed by some of the world’s most scenic backdrops.

The debut episode was filmed aboard the Sea Cloud Spirit in the British Virgin Islands and stars Ben Robinson, known for his appearances on Bravo’s Below Deck and his culinary training at top international restaurants including The Fat Duck in the UK.

The seven-night voyage — part of Sea Cloud Cruises’ Cultivated Journeys series — will sail roundtrip from Sint Maartenfrom Jan. 25 to Feb. 1, 2026. The itinerary includes six islands across the Caribbean, with stops in St. Barth, Antigua, Virgin Gorda, Jost Van Dyke and Norman Island. Guests onboard will be treated to live culinary showcases, tasting events and storytelling moments with Robinson, all set aboard the 136-guest three-masted windjammer.

“This new series highlights what makes travel so powerful — the connection between place, people and flavor,” said Mirell Reyes, President and CEO North America of Sea Cloud Cruises. “By bringing together world-class chefs and extraordinary destinations, we’re able to offer travelers something that’s not just beautiful to watch, but truly immersive to experience.”

The TIDE series is expected to roll out in 2026 on JOURNY’s streaming and VOD platforms.
