A Michelin-Star Thanksgiving Experience in Jamaica

The terrace overlooks the Caribbean Sea, the warm Hanover breeze carries the scent of herbs and smoke, and on this night, Thanksgiving dinner takes a completely unexpected turn. At Jamaica’s Round Hill Hotel and Villas, the holiday isn’t just about turkey and trimmings. It’s about world-class gastronomy in a timeless Jamaican setting, where Catalan creativity meets island soul.

This November, Round Hill opens a new chapter in its acclaimed Culinary Constellation program with a visit from Jordi Artal, the visionary chef behind Barcelona’s two-Michelin-star restaurant Cinc Sentits. For two unforgettable days, guests will step into Artal’s world—a place where modern technique, storytelling, and heritage come together on the plate.

It’s Thanksgiving, reimagined through the lens of one of Europe’s most celebrated culinary minds.

A Global Chef Arrives at Round Hill

Artal’s journey to Jamaica is more than a guest appearance; it’s a creative dialogue between Catalonia and the Caribbean. Raised in Barcelona and shaped by years in Silicon Valley, Artal brings a modern, multisensory approach to cooking—one that mirrors Round Hill’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of Caribbean hospitality.

The festivities begin Nov. 27 with Culinary Encounter, an immersive afternoon tasting that blends Catalan tradition with contemporary flair. That evening, during Round Hill’s Thanksgiving buffet, Artal will unveil a signature station dish, weaving Michelin-starred technique into a classic holiday feast.

Then, on Nov. 29, the series culminates with The Grand Finale Dinner, a five-course tasting on the Hanover Terrace. Dishes like bluefin tuna croustade with piparra gel and caviar, spiny lobster tail with cilantro cream spheres and Red Stripe sauce, and smoked ice cream with allspice-infused toffee are designed not just to impress—but to connect memory, place, and flavor in ways guests will not forget.

A Lasting Culinary Legacy

This isn’t just a fleeting pop-up. One of Artal’s signature creations will become a permanent fixture on Round Hill’s menu, ensuring that his culinary voice lives on long after the holiday weekend. It’s part of a broader vision launched in 2024, which has already brought international talent to Jamaica and is set to continue with celebrity Chef Rocco DiSpirito in March 2026.

“For me, cooking while traveling is about creating a dialogue between my roots and the place I’m visiting,” Artal said. “At Round Hill, I look forward to blending Catalan traditions with the vibrant flavors of Jamaica and sharing that story with every guest at the table.”

Round Hill’s Culinary Constellation is redefining what luxury dining looks like in the Caribbean—one chef, one story, and one unforgettable holiday at a time.
