Seiko Sportsmatic SilverWave 69799

Starting off this week with a killer vintage Seiko, and one you don’t see for sale often. This 1964 Sportsmatic SilverWave is just really cool. The SilverWave is one of Seiko’s earliest divers, with a water resistance rating of 30 meters and an internal rotating countdown bezel. The 38mm steel case is a great size, and it’s in good shape. The original crown is at 4 o’clock, and when it’s in the “in” position, you can turn it to rotate the inner bezel. The silver dial is nice, showing a touch of aging as is the bezel. The snap-on caseback still shows the Seiko wave log and the serial number which dates it to April 1964. The automatic movement is clean and it runs well per the seller. This comes on a Seiko beads of rice bracelet which isn’t original, but looks great. Nice example of a hard to find early Seiko diver!

Vintage Bulova Chronograph

Here’s a real beauty, a vintage Bulova chronograph that features a stunning slate blue dial with dual silver subdials. The 37mm squarish case looks good, still exhibiting the original brushed finish on the top. The dial looks mint, with nice steel stick markers and hands. There is no date window to mar the beautiful symmetry. The watch is powered by the workhorse Valjoux 7733 manual wind movement, which is nice and clean and runs well per the seller. Great chunky early 1970’s chronograph.

Vintage Universal Geneve

This vintage Universal is the opposite of the Bulova above, it’s a handsome, slim 14k gold dress watch. The 33mm case is solid 14k yellow gold, and in excellent condition. The gold dial has a classic linen texture to it, with super slim blued steel hands. There is a trapezoid date window at 3 o’clock, and slim applied stick markers. The crown is signed with the Universal Geneve logo as it should. The case is the front-loading type, so no pictures of the automatic movement, but the seller states the watch runs well. It comes on a 12k gold filled Milanese bracelet that isn’t original but matches well.

Vintage Omega Dress Watch

Here we have another nice gold dress watch, this time a gold capped Omega. The 34mm yellow gold cap case is in excellent condition with nice sharp edges. The back is personalized with an engraving. This was a service award gift, as the dial has the Honeywell logo above the 6 o’clock marker. You don’t see too many Omegas with company logo dials. The dial is super clean, with applied gold stick markers and gold stick hands, with no date window. The crown is original and signed with the Omega logo. Another front-loading case and no movement pictures, but the seller states it’s running well.

Vintage Croton Chronograph

Here’s another vintage chronograph for you, this time a three-register Croton. This may not be the famous Croton Chronomaster Aviator Sea Diver (I just wanted to type that name…), but this big chunk is still pretty cool. The 42mm steel case is good, with some light wear, and the elapsed time aluminum bezel insert has a nicely faded look to it. The black dial has three white subdials, and both the dial and hands are excellent. There is no movement picture, but the seller states the watch is powered by a Valjoux 7736 manual wind movement. Seller states the watch runs well and all chrono functions are….functioning.

Vintage Enicar

Last up is a nice vintage Enicar sporty/dress watch. The 35mm steel case is superb and unpolished with sharp edges. It has a classic round case with semi-slim straight lugs. The caseback has a nicely preserved Enicar logo medallion with (possibly the original) sticker on the back. The silver dial looks mint and has simple stick steel markers and hands, with no date window. The crown is with the Enicar logo as it should be. This piece comes with the original Oyster style steel bracelet with Enicar signed buckle. No movement picture, but the seller states the watch runs well. Good looking vintage piece that should go for a reasonable price.
